TLC Co-creation spaces
Are you looking for an inspiring place to work collaboratively in education? A space where you can think creatively, brainstorm and develop innovative educational solutions? And are you looking for a break from your familiar workplace and faculty?
The three co-creation spaces offer the opportunity for inter-faculty and inter-disciplinary collaboration. In this, meeting at a physical location plays a crucial role.
Four pillars
TLC Central aims to operate on the foundation of these four pillars in providing the co-creation spaces:
- Education: Working together on education;
- Interdisciplinarity: Reaping the benefits of different areas of expertise in co-creation.
- Reciprocity: At TLC, we are committed to knowledge sharing. We want to spread the knowledge that exists within small connections. We ask the same of you. Are you working on something that interests others within the UvA, outside your team or faculty? Leave your details and we will be happy to facilitate that. Or share with us the most important conclusion of your working session.
- Meetings: We believe in coincidental valuable encounters. Feel free to walk into our office. Or have a coffee with someone from another co-creation space during a break.
Practical information
Bookings
You can book the co-creation spaces for a morning session from 9am to 1pm or an afternoon session from 1pm to 5pm. It does not matter whether you want to use the whole part of the day or only need 2 hours. Bookings can be made up to 48 hours in advance.
Last-minute bookings
From 48 hours in advance, you can book TLC’s co-creation spaces by the hour instead of by half-day. For these last-minute bookings, you can even plan meetings not related to education. Please note that we do not offer additional catering for last-minute reservations. Coffee and tea are provided as standard.
Location and accessibility
Unfortunately, the co-creation spaces are not accessible to wheelchairs because there is no lift in the building.
The co-creation spaces are located at TLC Centraal at Handboogstraat 2 next to the Spui. You’ll find the co-creation spaces on the first floor, on your left flank.

An inspiring space to collaborate effectively with your teaching colleagues, each at your own workstation. Here you will find several compact tables that give you the freedom to work independently or in pairs, while still being close to your colleagues for smooth communication and collaboration.
Note: not suitable for meeting with 6 people or working on 1 project.

A colourful space suitable for brainstorming sessions, creating innovative educational solutions or other creative work forms. There is a large consultation table, as well as a cosy seating area for two people to discuss or exchange ideas in peace.
This Co-creation Room is located as the first room on your right in the corridor.

+ cupboard with objects (blocks etc.) for use during creative work form
The space is an ideal place to present and subsequently work together. With a spacious table for eight and a cosy sofa for 2-3 people, there is plenty of space to exchange thoughts. Be inspired by the art in the room and the ideas of others. This venue is perfect for interactive forms of work and offers plenty of space for movement.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail containing additional information. In this e-mail, you will find a link to easily change or cancel your booking.
If you have specified additional catering requirements, we will contact you.
One day before your booking, you will automatically receive a reminder by e-mail.
Yes, you can. Please note that you may be charged for additional catering if you cancel shortly beforehand.
How do I cancel?
In the confirmation e-mail you will find the ‘reschedule’ button. This button allows you to change or cancel the reservation. Or send an e-mail to tlc@uva.nl.
Yes, you certainly can! Please send an email to tlc@uva.nl. Please indicate in the subject that it concerns booking a co-creation space.
We offer the co-creation spaces free of charge. However, we do work on the basis of reciprocity. And that starts small. You can have TLC join your project, or you can share the conclusion of your working session with us so that we stay on top of the latest educational developments at the UvA. We also offer you a stage to present your project during one of our knowledge-sharing sessions.

Each room is equipped with a screen, flipchart, pens, markers and post-its. There is also a coffee machine, kettle and a selection of tea flavours.
