The UvA Teaching & Learning Centres (TLC) provide support to teaching staff in the professional development needed to meet this aim. TLC offers educational expertise and guidance so that teaching staff can develop further, in line with their prior knowledge and interests.

The range of development opportunities for lecturers is based on a shared model. In this model, the academic lecturer is at the centre. The term ‘academic lecturer’ refers to UvA employees with a teaching responsibility.
The guiding principle
The model is based on a guiding principle: ‘The academic lecturer takes the lead in their own development and develops themselves by adopting an research-based attitude and learning through inquiry, thereby enhancing the student’s learning process.’
