Target audience		Instructors, course coordinators and examiners involved in developing and revising exam questions and/or assessment.
Prior knowledge		Experience developing assessment
Preparation		In preparation, you will be asked to review the didactic theme webpages on Assessment. You will also bring your own exam or assignment to the workshop, along with any questions you have about it, so that these can be covered during the workshop.
Required time investment		One 3-hour session

Participants		Between 4 (minimum) and 15 (maximum) participants

Costs		The course is funded from central funds, but signing up is not non-committal. If you sign up, we assume you will participate.

Clarification of program

During this workshop, you will bring your own materials and questions on the topic of assessment. For example: Are the exam questions clear and unambiguous, or could they be confusing for students? Have I covered the desired material, and at the appropriate level?Does this assessment give me a reliable indication of the student’s knowledge and understanding? Why does my exam have a low pass rate? How can I grade my exams and assignments more efficiently? You will discuss these questions in small groups. An outside view often helps to clarify uncertainties and may offer inspiration for a different approach. The groups are supervised by the TLC network’s assessment specialists.

This session is in Dutch unless there are English-speaking participants.

This workshop can also be scheduled on request for a group of instructors or an entire team.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive a diploma or certificate upon completion of the workshop?

After completing a workshop, you will not receive a diploma. After all, it is not an course you are completing. However, it is possible to receive proof of participation.

What is the time investment outside the meeting(s)?

In preparation for the workshop, you will be asked to review part of the TLC website on assessment. You will also bring your own exam or assignment to the workshop and any questions you have. Afterwards you will implement the changes discussed in the meeting.
