The courses differ in a number of ways. Firstly, the BKO is a course that is also recognised by other universities. With a BKO, you obtain a qualification. However, after completion of this basic course you will receive a certificate of participation. This demonstrates that you have mastered the basics of teaching. This course focuses on acquiring didactic skills, which is done by practicing during the meetings. The BKO on the other hand reflects on these skills and you work on improving them in your teaching. This course is therefore a strong preparation for the BKO. Even after you have obtained your BKO, it is still possible to follow this course, for example if you feel the need to practice didactic skills again.
