Recent developments in Generative AI (GenAI) have a major impact on education and change the way we learn and teach. Popular examples of GenAI tools include ChatGPT, Gemini and Dall-E. The current software is able to mimic human language and as such may be used by students and teachers in education.
Within the theme Teaching & GenAI, you can read more about the challenges ánd opportunities of GenAI in education. For instance, it can pose a risk on the integrity of testing methods. Especially if students use it without permission. However, GenAI can also improve education and reduce the workload for teachers. This was highlighted in the TLC Science AI pilots.
On this page, you can find more information and practical advice on how to (responsibly) make use of GenAI as a teacher.
The TLC network collects advice for and by teachers, but does not set any UvA policy or rules.
