Workshops by IIS
The Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (IIS) is UvA’s center of expertise for interdisciplinary learning and teaching.
Current times are characterized by major societal challenges (think of the climate issue or growing inequality, for example) that call for an approach that prepares students for this complexity. The strategic agenda of the IIS is therefore focused on shaping social transitions: how do you, as a teacher, teach your students to recognize, initiate and evaluate possible (system) changes?
Workshops are regularly organized for lecturers from all faculties who would like to spend an afternoon immersed or inspired by changing topics, for example: how do you train students to become change agents? What is the best way to achieve transdisciplinary cooperation? Or how do you apply innovative forms of testing within your education?
