In his keynote speech, Sharon will provide insights on how assessment drives learning. Based on a current course redesign, he will cover design principles and considerations for integrating assessment as a driving force for learning. He will cover the following topics:

  • how to apply assessment for learning,
  • how to incorporate learning goals into the assessment,
  • and how to use learning analytics on these learning goals to tailor remediation for personalized learning.

Sharon Klinkenberg is a lecturer at the department of Communication Science. His teaching is mainly focused on statistics and psychological methods. Sharon is an educational innovator at the forefront of educational technology. As a winner of the national SURF education award, he specialized in digital assessment, and integrates formative and summative assessment in order to personalize large scale education. His research is focused on the validity and reliability of adaptive assessment methods and the effectiveness of blended learning interventions.
