Faculty support
TLC-FdR offers various forms of support to help lecturers explore and integrate GenAI into their work:
- Basic information: The employee website contains a wealth of information about the use of AI in education, including a manual for UvA AI Chat and two e-learnings that teach you how to use UvA AI Chat and increase your AI literacy.
- Workshop series: TLC-FdR invites you to a three-part workshop series, which address GenAI from multiple angles: critical, practical and pedagogical. The workshops can be taken in a sequence or separately.
1. GenAI as Time-Saver for Teachers: hands-on practice with the UvA Chatbot to streamline preparation while keeping academic judgement in your hands.
2. GenAI and Pedagogical Vision: a reflective session on balancing AI-enabled learning with deep, human-centered teaching.
3. No-Laptop Classrooms: Back to Deep Learning: Evidence-based strategies and examples for creating slow, attentive, and embodied classroom experiences.
- Integration in education: Enthusiastic about integrating AI into your own teaching? First, discuss your plan with your own director of education. Then we will be happy to help you with your plans, whether it concerns course design, assignments or assessment. Email us (tlc-fdr@uva.nl) with your plans and we will discuss what we can do for you. If you need technical support, please contact ICTO (icto-fdr@uva.nl).
