As an assistant professor (UD), associate professor (UHD) or professor (HL) with teaching responsibilities, you have a crucial role in the quality of our education. It is therefore important that you continue to invest in your professional development in teaching.
On this page, you can read how you can use your 8 hours of development time across six core themes, and which courses, workshops, programmes and other activities are offered.
The EB Educational Professional Development plan describes the development opportunities. To provide more focus, we distinguish 6 core themes that are essential to our educational vision at Economics and Business (EB). It is important that everyone on the U-line (UD, UHD, HL) have knowledge of these subjects.
You have 3 years to gain knowledge of the 6 core themes, 3 of which are mandatory and 3 are strongly recommended.
In three years (3 × 8 hours = 24 hours), you will delve into at least the three mandatory core themes by completing at least 1 activity per theme, such as a course or workshop. You can spend the remaining hours on the three strongly recommended core themes or, in consultation with your manager, on something outside the core themes (e.g. an external course).
Many offerings are given several times a year, ranging from approximately 1.5 hours to 8 hours. If you have any questions or looking for alternative training options, please contact us at tlc-eb@uva.nl. We are happy to assist you.
