30th May 2024: Exploring the effectiveness of the big lecture and possible alternatives

The big lecture stands out as one of the dominant teaching methods in our educational model. However, concerns have arisen regarding its effectiveness and efficiency. Recent monitoring of first and second-year bachelor students’ class attendance revealed consistently low rates, particularly challenging since the COVID lockdowns. A survey was also conducted to explore the motivations of bachelor students to attend lectures.

Research outcomes and open discussion

During the lunch session, the results of the research will be shared followed by an open discussion. Join the conversation and grab the opportunity to share your views on the future of big lectures, possible alternatives and solutions!
