Research into education at the UvA is important for increasing the quality of education. Therefore, one of the objectives of TLC Central is to stimulate and support a research culture within their own educational activities. We do this through various forms of educational research, often in collaboration with other departments within the UvA.

What type of research is being done?

• Small-scale research conducted by teachers themselves, into questions from their own educational practice, through the Education Research Fellows Programme.
• Multi-year policy and practice-oriented research by TLC Central researchers concerning themes relevant to teacher development and educational innovation.
• Research projects on ongoing themes, such as blended education and online education.

Together, these studies contribute to evidence-informed education wherein teachers base not only their subject content, but also their didactic actions on scientific research. You can read more about the different studies and programmes below.
