At TLC-EB, we regularly organise lunch sessions. Join an inspiring session over a catered lunch and exchange ideas and experiences on current educational topics. It is also a great opportunity to catch up with your fellow EB teachers.

Do you want to know what the latest educational research can do for you? Join a research seminar to explore with colleagues what new findings mean for your teaching practice. The TLC-EB Conference is an annual event where you can connect directly with fellow educators and exchange innovative ideas and best practices. It’s also the place to catch up on the latest trends in education. The next conference will take place in 2026.
Events
TLC Central organises several annual events and knowledge-sharing sessions on (improving) education in which all UvA teachers can participate. During these events you will meet colleagues from all UvA faculties. In addition, the sharing of knowledge and exchange of expertise on current educational themes is central. This includes themes such as GenAI in education, International Classroom and Sustainability.

The UvA Education Day is a celebration of teaching in which teachers and other colleagues from all faculties can participate. Together we focus that day on the importance of teachers and their teaching as well as current trends within UvA. The upcoming UvA Education Day is on Tuesday 28 October 2025, themed The Academic Compass.

An annual, private UvA conference that provides a strategic level exchange of views on important educational topics and trends. More info on edition 2025.
Within the UvA, we promote knowledge sharing, expertise formation and community building with Special Interest Groups (SIGs). With this, TLC Central is building an expertise network focused on shared themes and interests within education, in collaboration with the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies. SIGs regularly organize events around their expertise.
A TeachMeet is an informal mini-conference where teachers meet and exchange good practices to inspire each other. During each TeachMeet, a specific theme is central and 4 to 5 short presentations pass in review, ending with drinks together. Read more at tlc.uva.nl/teachmeet.
EduSnacks is a series of 30-minute webinars hosted online via Zoom. These bi-monthly sessions offer you the latest insights from educational research and provide you with practical tips that you can instantly apply in your teaching practice.
