With the podcast studio at REC you can record a podcast for your educational purposes, with technical support from the ICTO team.

With this tool I, as a teacher, can:

  • Record an audio clip myself…
    • As an enrichment, deepening or replacement of a lecture
    • To introduce a guest speaker, lecture, course or activity
    • At the end of a lecture or activity
    • For instruction & guidance
  • Record a VODcast
  • Or create assignments for students
Why should I use the podcast studio?
  • It connects with the target group; podcasts are a popular medium among students. By also using podcasts in education, it becomes possible for students to absorb knowledge in an accessible way that is in line with the world of experience.
  • Podcasts are flexible because they can be listened to by students anytime, anywhere
  • Both technical and didactic support is available so that you can focus on the content. Someone from the ICTO team will provide technical support before, during and after the recording.
What is the podcast studio less suitable for?
  • A podcast is not always the most suitable format. For example, some subjects require more images, so recording a knowledge clip may be a better alternative
  • As a complete replacement for lectures. This is possible, but then clearly communicate to students what is expected of them. For example, that they listen intently and take notes.
What does it take to successfully use the podcast studio?
  • Make your idea for the podcast recording as concrete as possible
  • What will be your main question of the story
  • What exactly do you want to achieve?
  • Think about which elements you would like to see again
  • How do I involve the public and how do I keep them involved?
  • How do you make sure my story is fair to the people and ideas it represents?
  • What makes your podcast distinctive
  • What will the student remember afterwards?
