Grasple can be used for statistical and mathematical exams and practice.

With this tool, as a teacher, I can:

  • Parameterize question content using variables
  • Create digital online tests containing complex mathematical formulas
  • Provide automated feedback on practice tests
  • Construct infinite number of questions from one question with different numbers and variables

Why should I use this tool?

Grasple is a testing tool that can make mathematical and statistical tests even more effective as a learning tool and make it possible to embed the tests better in the tutorials and in your course as a whole. In Grasple, you can construct questions, where the students need to give a mathematical equation as an answer. It has a very user friendly interface, for both the students and the teachers. On top of this, it is also possible to parameterize questions in Grasple. By using this parameterization option, you will be able to construct an infinite number of questions from one questions, because you can ask the students to perform the same task, but then with different numbers and/or variables. This makes Grasple also a very good tool to use for an ‘official examination’ like a midterm and as a tool for students to train themselves in a specific topic at home. The tool allows for the students to tests themselves and get immediate automatic feedback on their math and statistics practice tests, which is a great tool for courses with large numbers of students.

What is this tool less suitable for?

This tool works for mathematical and statistical formative testing. It does not work well for tests with essay questions or simple multiple-choice options
