A BRIO is professional hardware for conducting online and hybrid meetings. The high-resolution camera and microphone send the image and sound one way (unlike Meeting Owls, which record the image and sound from all sides). They work plug and play with all meeting tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and do not require installation; power and a USB cable is all that is needed.

With this tool, as a teacher, I can:

  • Have students attend classes in a hybrid setting
  • Have small groups of students (max 3) do online meetings with externals in a professional way
  • Have small groups of students work together from different locations
Why should I use this tool?
  • If, as a lecturer, you need to send information (e.g. giving a presentation), because the BRIO only sends sounds and images one way
  • If groups participate in an online meeting, a simple webcam and microphone can’t always guarantee good sound and picture quality. A BRIO ensures that everything is well in view, can be easily understood and provides a professional appearance (important when you’re in touch with an external)
  • During hybrid lessons or presentations
What is this tool less suitable for?
  • Discussions with multiple people. Choose a Meeting Owl in this situation, as it brings multiple people into view at the same time and retrieves the image and sound in a 360-degree manner)
  • Meetings around a table. Use a Meeting Owl in this situation to record everyone
When does this tool work best?
  • In settings where the image and sound of a speaker need to be recorded from one side (e.g. a presentation).
