TLC-FMG support

Recently, there have been a growing number of situations where teachers find themselves needing or wanting to address sensitive topics and debates in the classroom. As societal issues increasingly make their way into the classroom, educators often feel unprepared to handle these conversations effectively. The complexity and emotional weight of these topics can be challenging, leaving teachers uncertain about the best approach to take. That’s where we come in. We are here to support teachers, providing them with the tools and confidence they need to navigate these important conversations with care and competence.
‘Heated Offensive Tense (HOT)’ moments are inevitable. While the tension they bring can hinder learning, these moments also have the potential to greatly enhance it. When teachers steer clear of hot moments, they miss out on engaging in meaningful discussions and reflecting on disrespectful behaviours that can harm academic and professional growth, as well as civic responsibility. If effectively approached, hot moments can become valuable learning opportunities.
On this page you can find a classroom guide for addressing sensitive topics and or current societal debates in the classroom. You can also contact us to organise tailored trainings on dealing with ‘HOT’ moments.
