In this research-informed and experiential workshop, you will respond to the growing need to safeguard and deepen human-to-human learning in the age of GenAI. Together, we will explore how digital media and AI influence students’ attention, engagement, and memory, and examine strategies for designing laptop-free sessions that foster deep attention, meaningful interaction, and reflective learning.

In this workshop you will:

  • Explore research-based insights into how digital technologies and Generative AI affect student cognition and classroom dynamics.

  • Learn practical techniques for introducing and managing laptop-free classrooms that promote focused and embodied learning.

  • Experience concrete examples of classroom activities that cultivate deep attention, meaningful dialogue, and reflection.

  • Develop actionable ideas for redesigning your teaching practice to support deep, human-centered learning.

Dr. Lela Mosemghvdlishvili, expert in contemplative education (TLC AI expert), will guide the session, sharing evidence-based approaches to creating a balanced learning environment that thoughtfully integrates both laptop-supported and laptop-free experiences.
