Do you already have experience building a chatbot in UvA AI Chat and want to take it a step further? In this intermediate workshop, you will learn how to further develop, test, and prepare an existing chatbot for use by others, for example in a team or in education.

Course details

This workshop is intended for participants who already have some experience with building or using a chatbot (persona) in UvA AI Chat and who want to take the next step. The focus is on improving, testing, and applying an existing chatbot in a broader context than individual use only. Participants will work on questions such as: how do you make a chatbot more robust, how do you test it with different users and situations, and what is involved when you want to deploy a chatbot in a team or in education? Attention is also given to structure, boundaries, management, and responsibility.

Please note: this workshop partly depends on the technical possibilities within UvA AI Chat. Features related to sharing, editing, or collaborating on personas are still under development and may change. The workshop therefore focuses both on what is possible now and on what you can already start preparing for.

Intended learning outcome

After completion of this workshop you will

be able to improve an existing chatbot (persona) and make it more robust;
know how to test chatbot behaviour with different scenarios and users;
have gained insight into what is needed to deploy a chatbot in a broader context, for example in a team or in education;
understand which choices are involved in management, boundaries, and responsibility around chatbot use.

Good to know

Target audience		UvA (teaching) staff with some experience with AI chatbots or personas who want to further develop and deploy their application.
Preparation		Recommended: bring an existing chatbot, persona, or concrete idea.
Prior knowledge		Experience with AI chatbots or personas.
Language		Duthc or English, depending on participants

No, that is not required, but experience with building or using a chatbot or persona is strongly recommended.

Is this workshop mainly about education?

Educational applications are definitely covered, but the workshop is not exclusively focused on education and is also relevant for broader work contexts.

Can I also learn in this workshop how to share a chatbot with others?

Yes, this will be covered, but the exact possibilities depend on the technical status of UvA AI Chat at that time.
