Hybrid Learning Theatre M3.02

Background information HLT M3.02

The Hybrid Learning Theatre (HLT) in REC M3.02 is a lecture space where hybrid educational sessions can be held on an advanced audiovisual level. Since the start of the pandemic in 2020 the purpose of the studio has been to improve the quality of online education at the Faculty of Economics and Business, as it enables lecturers to interact with a small-scale audience while simultaneously streaming to a larger online audience. Giving everyone in the online and on-site audience the possibility to interact with each other, while making this interaction clearly visible, the technological possibilities of the HLT enhance overall participation.

Current situation
As on-campus teaching is possible again since spring 2022, the HLT continues its purpose of hosting events and lectures where a hybrid setup is desirable. Examples include:

• (Feedback) lectures where each student (attending physically or online) can be clearly audible and visible
• Workshops, lectures and conferences aimed at an (internationally) online participating audience
• Study programs which favor flexible and hybrid learning possibilities such as part-time programmes

The Studio

Technical support

Technical support is included when booking a session in the Hybrid Learning Theatre of M3.02. During a lecture, the technical team will take care of Zoom, cameras and microphones so that the lecturer can focus on the session itself.

Price

There are two price categories:

• Lectures and sessions relating to the regular program of the Faculty of Economics and Business can be organized free of charge in the HLT of M3.02
• An hourly rate of €205,- (price including technical support) will be charged for bookings and sessions that do not relate to the regular program of the Faculty of Economics and Business.

Recording your session

Recordings of events and lectures in HLT M3.02 can be made in Webcollege, Zoom or in VMIX software. The team for technical support in M3.02 (see above) can discuss these possibilities with you.

Booking rules

The faculty of Economics and Business has priority when it comes to scheduling lectures in HLT M3.02. Reservations for other faculties will be entered as provisional bookings until 4 weeks before the start of the period, after which they too become definitive bookings.
