Daily office tasks with UvA AI Chat

Would you like to explore how UvA AI Chat can support you in your daily work? In this practical workshop, you will get to know concrete applications for your own tasks, such as improving texts, organising information, summarising content, and streamlining workflows more efficiently. You will gain a realistic picture of where AI can and cannot be used within the UvA.

Course details

This workshop is intended for staff who want to start working with UvA AI Chat in an accessible way in their day-to-day practice. The emphasis is on AI as support for common tasks, such as rewriting and structuring texts, drafting emails, summarising information, and organising simple work processes. You will explore different ways of collaborating with AI and gain insight into the possibilities and limitations of the available models within UvA AI Chat. During the workshop, you will work hands-on with your own tasks or directly applicable examples. Explicit attention is paid to security, privacy, reliability, and energy consumption.

Intended learning outcome

After this workshop, you will:

  • be able to use UvA AI Chat to support simple day-to-day tasks, such as writing, structuring, and organising texts/data;
  • have an overview of the (new) possibilities of different AI models and ways of collaborating with AI within UvA AI Chat;
  • be able to recognise important considerations when using AI, such as security, privacy, reliability, and energy consumption.

Target audience UvA teachers and other staff with support, organisational, or administrative duties who want to use AI in their daily work.
Preparation Not required. Participants may bring their own task, text, or work example if they wish.

Do I already need experience with AI to participate?

No, this workshop is specifically intended as an introductory workshop.

Can I bring my own work to the workshop?

Yes, very much so. The workshop is hands-on, and you can work with your own tasks or directly applicable examples.
