Canvas Chat
The easiest way to communicate with individual students is to use the Canvas Chat function. It is recommended that you use this as your default channel. However, if you need to talk to a student about more personal or sensitive topics, or if they request this themselves, it may be preferable to have such a conversation in Microsoft Teams (see below).
SpeedGrader
If your students submitted their individual assignments online in Canvas, you can use SpeedGrader to add inline feedback to the document as well as general comments.
Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is available for all UvA teachers. The conferencing functionality of Teams can also be used for one-on-one meetings with students for support and supervision. The Outlook integration also makes planning a meeting a one-click action.
