Qualtrics is a very comprehensive survey programme. All staff and students within the UvA have a full license.
With this tool, as a teacher, I can:
enable students to put out questionnaires themselves securely, for theses and courses;
create and deploy questionnaires themselves.

Why should I use this tool?
To efficiently survey my students’ opinions on a variety of topics, such as online vs. offline education, time of education, etc.
Qualtrics offers many different question options, branching possibilities, etc. This is much more comprehensive than the options within Microsoft Forms.
Qualtrics has a very comprehensive support environment: you can watch many videos and ask questions of other users.
Participants can choose whether they want to participate anonymously or not.
What is this tool less suitable for?
Within Qualtrics, you cannot easily collaborate with people from other institutions. You can only collaborate in a research project within the UvA.
Qualtrics has many more features than Microsoft Forms, therefore Qualtrics is a bit more complex to use.
It is important to discuss with students how to design the research ethically and technically. Consider questions such as: how to reach the right audience for the research and what are the disadvantages and consequences of bulk mailing?
