Traditional setup

Traditional setup

The traditional setup is similar to the standard arrangement, with the distinction that students are seated in pairs instead of rows. This arrangement fosters a calmer classroom environment as students engage in discussions and collaborate within their pairs. This arrangement is particularly suited when the teacher gives a lecture, in which students primarily listen and take notes. In this setup, all students can see the teacher and the slides and have plenty of space.

Traditional Classroom layout Learning Activities:

  • Exit Ticket: brief assessment at the end of the class to gauge understanding.
  • Muddiest Point: identifying the most confusing or unclear parts of a lesson.
  • Think-Pair-Share: reflect individually, discuss with a partner, then share with the class.
  • Interactive Lectures: engage students actively during lectures with questions and discussions.
  • Student Response Systems: use technology for real-time student feedback and participation.
  • Demonstration: visual or hands-on display of concepts or experiments.
  • One Minute Paper: quick written reflection on key takeaways from the class.
