Guided hands-on Canvas session: build your course

A well-designed digital learning learning environment gives your students flexibility and accessibility in learning, and it provides them with a roadmap for your course. Also, a good Canvas page is a useful scaffold for you and your co-teachers.

When your Canvas page is well-layed out before the start of your course, it’s a true time-saver that relieves work-pressure for you, and it will enrich the learning experience for your students.

This session is a chance to take the time and (re)structure and elevate your Canvas page.

Session content

In this session you’ll build and structure your course in Canvas. You’ll receive didactic advice and practical tips, p.a. on building modules, assignments, and grade calculation.

The session is 2 hours, with and optional 3rd hour to finalize your page.

Learning Objectives:

After this session:

  • You can build and structure modules in Canvas.
  • You can create assignments on Canvas and with Canvas-linked external tools.
  • You can set-up an effective grade calculation in Final Grades.
  • You can use various learning-tools in Canvas to support student learning in your course.
  • Your new course-page will be – at least well on the way – ready for your students.

NB: This session will not go into details and functioning of external tools.
