Didactic bootcamp
This two-day didactive bootcamp prepares you to confidently start teaching. You’ll learn basic principles of effective teaching, reflect on your role in student learning, and apply strategies to create a safe learning environment. The bootcamp includes practical exercises, role-playing, and tools for handling classroom situations.
You’ll participate in interactive activities, learn from peers, and practice facilitating introductions for tutorials. The bootcamp covers giving classroom instructions and using classroom equipment, with time for questions and hands-on practice.
Learning outcomes
After day 1, you’ll be able to…
- execute introduction exercises (with students)
- use ways to contribute to creating a safe environment (for you and your students)
- identify own and others’ concerns regarding teaching
- identify what types of qualities and behaviour makes a good teacher
- give clear and motivating instructions (to students)
After day 2, you’ll be able to…
- understand in what classroom situations a student learns (and when not)
- analyse what determines motivation for students
- act upon demotivated students
- provide constructive feedback on (students’) behaviour
- formulate solutions for concerns regarding teaching

| Preparation and materials | No specific preparation is required, but consider your teaching goals and concerns. Training slides and materials can be accessed via the TLC-FMG website, which may be used as a reference.
