AI & Assessment | FNWI

Course description

The proliferation of accessible, powerful Generative AI (GenAI) tools is driving educators to re-examine assessment regimes: what needs to change, and why? This workshop demystifies GenAI’s capabilities and their impact on unsupervised assessments, clarifies what responsible use and misuse look like in your context, reviews practical options to make assessments more GenAI‑resilient, and applies these insights to design robust, authentic, and constructively aligned summative assessments.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Describe some of the different ways students can use GenAI in the completion of assessments, and their impact on learning and academic integrity.
  • List and describe the requirements and learning process of your assessment and identify the ways GenAI can impact this process
  • Select viable adjustments to your assessment and begin the editing process.
