TLC EB conference

The TLC-EB Conference is an annual event where you can connect directly with fellow educators and exchange innovative ideas and best practices. It’s also the place to catch up on the latest trends in education. The next conference will take place in 2026.

2025 | Gen Z: reshaping teaching and learning

On 25 March 2025 we discovered more about today’s students known as Generation Z (Gen Z). They grew up in a fast-paced digital world and prefer to learn in ways that suit them best. Gen Z quickly processes information, easily switches between sources, and prefers interactive, visual content like on TikTok and Instagram. Many are entrepreneurial and highly engaged with social issues.

What key characteristics and learning preferences should be considered when teaching the current generation of students? And how can students and educators work together to make learning more engaging and effective? We explored what works best for Gen Z in education, how they like to learn, participate in class, and collaborate with others.

2024 | Gen-AI: transforming teaching, embracing the future

On 26 March 2024 we explored the impact of GenAI on education – and how it delivers innovative ways of teaching and testing. We look back on enlightening afternoon with an engaging keynote speech by Erdinç Saçan, interactive parallel sessions and discussions.

The conference aimed to encourage collaboration in educational innovation through the use of GenAI, exchange of good practices and exploration of AI in education.

Experts and fellow teachers shared insights on the challenges and opportunities of integrating GenAI into teaching methods. It was a successful day where we as colleagues exchanged ideas and gained new insights on the impact of GenAI in education.

2023 | Assessment in action: harnessing the power of evaluation

Together with over 50 colleagues we listened to keynote speaker Sharon Klinkenberg, who shared his experiences and best practicesinspiring us all to enhance learning through assessment. After this thought-provoking keynote speech, we proceeded to the workshop rounds on ChatGPTTesting with Active Learning, and how FeedbackFruits can assist with testing.

2022 | How can you make the most of on-campus education?

On 11 May 2022, we explored Active Learning together with more than 50 teachers and colleagues. In his keynote, Paul Kirschner explained the core principles of Active Learning in a clear and engaging way. Peter van Baalen then showed how this approach is being embedded within our faculty.

Across two rounds of workshops, we explored three themes: Active Learning, Educational Practices and Live Cases. These sessions offered concrete ideas you could start using in your own teaching straight away.

On this page, you’ll find a concise infographic of the keynote, an aftermovie, a recording of the plenary session and all the slides that were used. Haven’t completed the evaluation yet? We’d love to hear your feedback.
